I just got these. Taking them out of the package my husband said "Whoa, those are huge". I tried them on anyhow. They actually don't look "huge" on me overall, but the top (from crotch up) fits too loose in tummy and hip areas--to much material and sort of poofs out in places. The legs fit me fine if going for a looser more pant-like fit vs. tights. I'm debating on whether or not to keep them. Two days ago I ordered a large, knowing they might be too big, b/c it was $30 less than the mediums I wanted for some reason. If I look online right now, the mediums are now the price the larges were and vice versa. (What the heck, Amazon?) So I actually may go ahead and buy the mediums to wear as running "tights" and also keep these as ones that I could put another layer under. They are super duper comfortable, and we are hiking tomorrow, so, really, I just have to get past the fact that they are very unflattering b/c, while loose in the top area, they aren't exactly falling off. Just a hair frumpy is all. Hopefully the mediums will be sleeker. (Oddly, the Radiant pullover fits me best in large, about to review it). I will edit this if I need to after wearing in for activity, but it seems like it will perform well as an only-layer in the 50 degree weather we'll be hiking in tomorrow.UPDATE: I felt the larges were just too big, so I returned them. The mediums, however, fit great! I wore them for snowman making in mid-40s weather yesterday and they did great. For colder, I could put a snugger underlayer of tights on and be good to go. These fit like more of a pant than a tight, BUT, now that I have the right size, I actually could wear these under a loose layer as I would a snugger, thinner tight. In other words, the right fit = versatility there. I'm a large in the Radiant LT Zip Top, but a medium in these, so consider that when ordering. And the difference in size between the medium and large was quite significant. It almost seemed like a size could have gone in between, if that makes sense. While I'm here... The waistband string is so skinny, I see a definite loss of it into the pant in the near future. Luckily, it seems wholely unnecessary b/c the pants stay up well on their own, so, really, I may yank it out b/c the knots on the ends of the string are a little uncomfortable. One more thing: The large size was nice in that it had a small company logo at the ankle. No super noticeable and definitely easy to hide in boots b/c these are nice enough to wear as a regular pant/legging with a sweater, for example. But the mediums have a big obvious "OR" on the mid left thigh, and then a fairly obvious "Outdoor Research" on the back of the right ankle. Definitely sport-attire only. And something to consider if you don't like being a walking billboard. The tights look pretty good, but for some reason I ordered an M instead of an S, and it was loose for me. I am usually an S size, but I thought that I needed a larger size with other base layers that I would be wearing underneath. I reckon in hindsight, I would have been better off with an S. I am keeping it anyway because it has really grown on me. It is a comfortable pair of tights, loose fitting, though a little long for me (5' 3", 54kg). It has soft fleece insides and a smooth outer side, and a tiny hidden pocket on the inside which is quite handy for keys when I go for walks in the autumn and winter time. The slim sleek design is preferred and I can wear it indoors and outdoors as it doesn't look like a pair of frumpy track pants that people wear to sleep. t have tested it out in about 10-15 degrees celcius and windy (about 24 knots according to weather forecasts) conditions. It works pretty well, and I had a pair of base thermals underneath. I went for a walk in these cold windy conditions and was perfectly warm and comfortable. I would love to buy another pair, in size S next time.I wear either s or xs in form fitting clothing. Previous reviews lead me to choose xs which fits just like the model. They are instantly cozy when pulled on. They aren't as stretchy as spandex leggings or as tight to the form. I had to knock off a star because the pair I received has the OR embroidered logo on the left mid thigh. There is another embroidered brand spelling out Outdoor Research on the right rear below the waist band. The obvious branding will keep these in my "gear" category rather than streetwear crossover.SOOOO comfortable and warm!!! I really like to wear these when I'm out doing errands in the cold and when I'm just slouching at home. The only bad thing was that these create a crease around the belly button where anyone even with a mild tummy looks like they may be bigger than they are. These pants are exactly what I was looking for. They are super warm but not bulky. I've been wearing them to run and do bootcamp-type classes outdoors. It's been in 10-20 degrees lately and these pants keep me warm. They are not exactly tights, like others mentioned, but they have a trim fit. If you're legs are super skinny they might fit more like warm-up pants. I'm 5'1, 110 lbs., athletic build. Super comfortable and warm. Perfect.I bought the women's tights and they fit loose in the legs, more pants than tights. I also bought the Men's Tights and found them to be more like tights plus with two zipper pockets. The womens has one small interior security pocketFor the $79 I spent on these pants, I expected well-fitting, high quality material. When I took them out of the package, the material felt cheap and the waistline was not nearly as smooth as I was hoping. I am consistently a small in outdoor clothing (125 lbs, 5'7") and these were huge in the waist and thigh area - lots of extra material, as others had said. Outdoor Research has high-quality gear, but I was pretty disappointed in these pants. I would return, but unfortunately I missed the window. I am not a negative reviewer and make my purchases very carefully...just wasn't what I was looking for I guess! These tights are so warm and so comfortable my life feels complete now that I have them. I read the feedback that said they are a little large and went for a size smaller, I'm so pleased I did and they fit perfectly. Now I just have to wait for winter so I can wear them.
