padding material was good,the fit on the thighs are good but on the hips, the elastic band slips slowly as you move especially when you bend. it has no non-slip rubber that prevents it from slipping. also padding size for the thigh is quite small.it does not cover most of your thigh.provides good protection for the back and hips for sporting activities.I purchased the McDavid Hex Dual-Density Thudd Short, size medium, a couple weeks ago for my 15 yr old football player son with about a inch 32 waist. It fit perfectly and has great padding for thighs, hips and tailbone and great durability for sprinting and quick change of direction.Recommend ordering multiple pair. These are great and convenient. I ordered 2 and may order more.I am an SCA combat archer and thigh and groin protection is of utmost importance when being shot at by opposing archers and crossbows.Ordered these before they provide perfect support and protection for basketballGreat product...good fit.
